It’s the end of another mellow weekend. I went home again, didn’t much, nothing really exciting. I did pick up my mail at home, which contained a letter from The United States District Court. Seems I’m a potential Juror. I had to fill out a form, which I’ll have to send in tomorrow. If I end up serving, it will be between September 2004 and August 2005 sometime. I think it could be a cool experience. Maybe I can teach my fellow jurors a thing or two about jury nullification (doubtful I’d get a case where that would be even thinkable though.) My guess is if I’m picked, I’d be a prime candidate for dismissal, if for no other reason than I’m a single white male.

I picked up a Sega Dreamcast this weekend. It set me back a whopping $15 for the unit, $35 for everything (extra controller, memory unit, 6 month warranty.) I got it because it’s really easy to turn them into Nintendo emulators. I’ve got a disc that I burned that has the emulator and about 300 games on it, including almost all the games I loved playing when Nintendos were still popular.

Another cool thing that happened was I got the title for my pickup. My dad bought the truck over 5 years ago and always had some reason it should be in his name. Now it’s paid off and I’m moved out so he was out of excuses, and actually took the initiative to do the transfer. Just one more thing to make me feel a little more like an adult. Now I’m going to need to switch my insurance over to my name. I thought we did that 2 years ago, but found out much later that we only changed the billing name.

Other than that, it was a pretty boring weekend. My friends are all too busy for me, so I spent a lot of time watching TV, and there wasn’t much on. I’m debating whether I want to even go home next weekend. Life is normalizing for me in my apartment now, and while it’s still a little lonely, I am finding more to do. I figure if I’m just going to watch TV, I may as well stay at my apartment and watch what’s recorded on my Tivo. I may have one good reason to go home though. I’d like to start going to Street Level again, doing street evangelism, and may go out with them on Friday night.

Speaking of Tivo, my new one arrived from being serviced. They didn’t fix it though, it still doesn’t work. I talked with DirecTV though, and they are sending me a replacement, free of charge, even though I didn’t buy it from them. That’s good service! If they didn’t do that, I was going to ask them to cancel that receiver on my account, as well as the year commitment that went with it, and just get a remote control extender and run two TV’s off the same receiver. I shouldn’t need to do that though, hopefully the replacement will work fine.

Philly beats Green Bay and Indianapolis beats Kansas City. Next week Philly plays Carolina for the NFC Championship and Indy Plays New England for the AFC. I don’t care who wins either game, or the Super Bowl. I kinda home Philly doesn’t win, but otherwise have no opinion. I’m just tired of hearing about Donovan McNabb. Yeah, I know he’s an overrated QB, and the media loves him because he’s a black QB. From what I’ve heard of him, Daunte Culpepper is a better quarterback, and he’s black too.

Well, I’m off to watch the Simpsons. Till next time!
