I’d like to say, first and foremost, that I DO support Michael Peroutka of the Constitution Party. I tend to find that my posts occasionally attract readers that find me via the search engines. If you are one of them, then just keep in mind that not supporting Bush by no means translates into supporting Kerry.

A few reasons I don’t support Bush:

  • Prescription Drug benefits (Unconstitutional)
  • McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform (Flies in the face of the First Amendment)
    1. He promised not to sign it in his 2000 campaign
    2. once it was being debated, he promised to veto it
    3. once it was passed, he signed it promising that the Courts would strike it down
    4. once the courts upheld it, he took no steps to repeal it
    5. now that ‘527’ organizations are taking advantage of a deliberate loop-hole in the bad law, he is threatening legal action against them, including those that benefit himself (at least he’s consistent on that one point)
  • Promise to renew the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban (Flies in the face of the Second Amendment and does not ban “assault weapons”, they were already banned)
  • He’s taken no action to curb the problem of illegal immigration
  • The “war on terror” has always been undeclared and open-ended. It does nothing to go after the greatest threats, Islamic Extremists in Saudi Arabia and Iran, and does too much to curb freedoms at home. It has brain-washed the masses into giving up Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms under the guise of fighting the terrorist threat. More can be done to fight terrorism by easing restrictions on carrying concealed weapons (by law abiding citizens) than can ever be done by strengthening law-enforcement. Also, reffering to Islam as “the religion of peace” ignores 13 centuries of history, and insults every religion that is peaceful, namely every religion that is not Islam.
  • While claiming to be pro-life, and even passing a partial-birth abortion ban, he could end abortion today by declaring, in an executive order, the unborn to be human beings with full legal and Constitutional rights. He has the scientific understanding of the DNA molecule discovered since Roe v. Wade to back him up.

  • Faith-based initiatives. First used by Mussolini, they are not intended to strengthen charity, as the President claims, but rather to reign in the freedoms of churches and other charity groups. If a church accepts government funds under the Faith-Based initiative, they can be forced to hire people of other religions or living lifestyles incompatible with that church.
  • The United Nations. President Bush has done nothing to withdraw the United States from this organization that is bent on our destruction and erosion of our sovereignty.
  • The Law of the Seas treaty. President Bush signed the treaty which erodes our national sovereignty and establishes a tax base for the United Nations
  • U.N. election observers. When Kofi Annan refused to bring observers to keep an eye on the November elections because, as he said, it requires a formal request from the Executive in charge of American Government (the President). President Bush formally requested observers on August 6th, 2004. This further erodes American Sovereignty by allowing the U.N. to decide what votes are valid, and what votes are not.
  • Under President Bush, government spending has increased faster than under any other president since FDR. With increased spending came increased size of the Federal Government.
  • The Federal reserve. Since 1913, this private corporation has been given the unconstitutional authority to control America’s money supply. President Bush has done absolutely nothing to uphold his oath to the Constitution and return the control of the nation’s money supply to the U.S. Treasury where it belongs.
  • While not really an arguement, I’m sure there will be many more points once the Campaign gets into full-swing, and the debates get heated. Neither major candidate has come out for much or against much (except each other).

Every issue I’ve listed has been addressed by Mr. Peroutka of the Constitution Party, and to my liking. Some wonder why I don’t support Bush, in spite of these reasons, when John Kerry promises to do much more that I disagree with. Well, voting for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil. No Thanks!
