This weekend in Granite City is the first annual “Bad Boys” car show. To have some fun with it, the local morning talk radio show is broadcasting from a car dealer along the main drag in town. When I woke up this morning, they were asking people to stop by, that they had Krispy Kreme doughnuts, T-Shirts, and hats to give away. Well, their location was pretty much right on my way to work, so I thought I’d leave a few minutes early and stop by.
So I’m driving down Division St., knowing that they’re at the intersection of Division and 27th. As I get to about 27th, I see them out in front of the car dealership. I had to laugh as I walked up, there were about 5 people there, and two of them were the guys on the show. It was almost like kids running a lemonade stand.
They gave me a T-Shirt and a pretty cool hat, along with a KK doughnut, a coupon for $5 for Taco John’s, and a window clingy.
In Minneapolis, they would have had a crowd standing around, and the free gifts would have been gone.
