A new tool to fight spam hits spammers where it counts, their servers. I may have to give this one a try, my home computer runs Sunday night through Friday afternoon every week, and is only used about 15% of the time.

The only thing I can think of that would work better is if the idiots that buy crap from these low-lifes would stop. Take the money out of spam and you kill spam.

  1. Some of the spammers are started to redirect their domains to point to Lycos. However, from what I understand the program just used http GET so, theoretically that shouldn’t have any effect on Lycos. It’s nice that they are at least trying.

Another great program to leave running on your computer is Folding@Home: http://folding.stanford.edu/ (for research on protein folding).

  2. That’s interesting. I wonder why Lycos?

I just wish people would stop buying crap from these people. The fact that there is enough demand for mortgage refinancing via spammers, penis enlargement, etc. just perplexes me.
