I’ve mentioned in the past that I’ve come across some interesting corrolations between American pressure on Israel to give in to terrorism and natural disasters on our own soil. It’s actually not limited to just natural disasters, it also includes terrorist attacks and stock market “corrections”.

The best resource to illustrate what I’m talking about is “Israel: The Blessing or the Curse” by John McTernan and Bill Koenig, which I recently finished reading, and now “Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel” by William Koenig (yes, they’re the same guy), which I haven’t read yet.

Bill Koenig was in town this past weekend and spoke at a conference titled “Understanding the Times”. I was fortunate enough to make it to the entire conference, and found Koenig’s topics interesting (but not new to me). He outlined instances when either our President or our Nation as a whole has had negative things happen as a direct response to pressure on Israel to give up land in exchange for “peace” going back to President Nixon, but becoming almost commonplace beginning with Gearge H.W. Bush and the Madrid peace talks of 1992. Similar correlations have been made between these disasters and major decisions/legislation on the gay agenda, abortion, and pornography. An example of some of the more recent events he has tracked can be found at this page on his website, watch.org

One thought on “Why We Need to Be Pro-Israel

  1. I’m not denying that it is a good thing to be pro-Israel, but I don’t think this argument flies. One of the major points of Job is that it is impossible to conclude from suffering that someone is wicked.

Also, from a statistical standpoint, there are “wicked things” and disasters of one sort or another happening nearly every day on that list you posted. Rather than concluding that there is some specific correlation between events and wickedness, I would just conclude that in this world today, there is a lot of wickedness and a lot of natural (and unnatural) disasters.
