I don’t get into the Olympics, but I found this story to be a bit over the top. Europe claims that since EU countries collectively got 82 gold medals compared to 35 won by the U.S. and 32 won by China, that they won the Olympics. Well, if each of America’s 50 states had sent athletes, instead of only sending them from the U.S. as a whole, we would have trounced all competitors.
Come to think of it, we should be sending ambassadors to the United Nations from each state instead of just one. Of course, that idea isn’t quite as good as getting us out of the U.N. completely.
