I noticed this weekend that the alliance link script is working again. However, I am not on it. My site is listed on the alliance website as a member, but I think the Bear cut me out of the script. It was about the time that he changed the title of my blog for ecosphere purposes that the Alliance script stopped working. I emailed him saying that if it was because of my blog title, being Greek instead of English, he could/should change the title to the English equivelent. I also requested that he add my new URL as an alternate to my blog. Right now, I am listed twice, once per URL. Both point to the same folder on the same server. Because it’s listed twice, I have two rankings in the ecosystem, and sadly the smaller ranking is more accurate. Every permalink under the old URL points to the new URL and so I get over 60 unique links and most are actually me pointing to myself.
I hope the bear soon realizes that it’s summer now and comes out of hybernation. Until he does, my ecosytem ranking will be a huge mess.
It’s not that any of this makes much difference in the end. It’s just that I’m a little anal and like to have things working properly. All the Alliance really does for me is increase my standing on Google, which gets me a few extra hits every day. Not a big deal though.
