Yesterday the Evangelical Outpost had a great post listing several quotes by Michael Moore. It’s a fairly quick read, and worth it. This guy is such an ignoramus, I don’t understand how anyone could take him seriously. Well, correction, I have a wacky uncle that probably takes him seriously. I can’t see how anyone else takes him seriously though.

I haven’t yet seen “Fahrenheit 911”. I don’t plan to either. I wouldn’t want to risk giving this buffoon so much as a nickel. A few people told me I should see “Bowling for Columbine” when it was out, and when it hit DVD. I didn’t see that either. If someone loaned me a copy, I might sit through it; but like I said, I wouldn’t give that guy so much as a nickel, so I’ll never see either in the theater or rent the DVD.

On another note, yesterday Joe Soucheray, a local talk-show host, had an interesting silver lining in the cloud that is children seeing this movie. Because it’s rated R, they can’t get into it by themselves. What they are doing to get in is they are buying tickets to other movies and going into “Fahrenheit 911” when the theater employees aren’t looking. Well, he said that 90% of the ticket price goes to the production company, and only 10% stays at the theater. Because kids are buying tickets to other movies, Moore doesn’t see a nickel of their ticket price!

I think it’s funny that he was applauding himself for being the #1 movie last weekend. With Spiderman 2 opening today, Moore will be lucky to make much money at all this weekend.

I just wish the conservative media would shut up about him. They’re giving him more hype than he deserves, and getting more people to go to his movie out of curiosity than would otherwise go.

  1. AO, this guy idolizes Canada. He made that movie, ‘Canadian Bacon’. He tried to tell Canadians not to vote for our Conservative Party in the upcoming elections because then we’ll turn out more like America (he thinks). He comes up here bashing American policy and singing the praises of, for example, our health care system.
