A few weeks back, I asked who is HERMAN and MEDGE. After catching a spam comment that made it past my beloved new filter, and checking my activity logs, it appears that MEDGE is a comment spammer. I’ve added an entry to the spam guard, to limit his effectivenes, and banned his IP address. My guess is he’s some pimple-faced script kiddie getting his jollies off a few random hits. The fact that the spam comments are almost always to the same blog post tells me he’s too lazy to actually do the work himself, he sets some script to post for him.
Spammers, be they email or blog comment, are leeches of the slimiest kind.
