I found this story to be a bit laughable. I never watched the first two American Idol seasons, but gave it a shot this season. I can’t say I’m terribly impressed, and could only make it through each episode because Tivo allows me to only watch the most interesting parts. I got though last night’s hour long show in about 15 minutes (and will get through tonight’s half hour elimination show in about 2 minutes). Anyway, last week the theme was Elton John songs, and Elton John sat in with the judges. Apparently he thinks that the show is a sign of racism and sexism. Of last night’s six contestants, four are women, and three of the six are black. There is only one white guy left on the show, and one white girl, the rest are minorities. It amazes me how nothing is good enough for these people. I assumed that most people watching are like me, hoping the best person wins. Last year a black man won. The year before, a woman won. I think Elton John is the racist. He just despises his own race. I long for the day when liberalism collapses under it’s own weight and these specious charges become a thing of the past.
Let the best man (or woman) win, regardless of skin color.
