With Romney suspending his campaign this past week and McCain getting heralded as the Republican nominee for President this time around, Ron Paul’s chances are not looking so good. However, getting the nomination was only one part of his agenda. He has done (and is continuing to do) a masterful job of pulling together freedom minded people to start moving the political scene. He may not get the nomination, but his delegates will be a force to be reckoned with at the convention.

I have yet to ever vote Republican in a presidential election, but I may do it for the first time this fall. Ron Paul may not have his name on my ballot, but that won’t stop me. I want to send a message to the Republican party that they had a guy who fired me up enough to go to the polls. The fact that they have rejected him won’t stop me, either. I can’t in good conscience vote for the guy they have anointed (who is nothing more than a fall-guy to get Hillary elected), so I will vote for the Doctor who cured my apathy.

He’s still in the race for the nomination, so there has been no mention of a write-in campaign, but I want to start one right here today. Surely there will be thousands of others who will come to the same idea on their own, but let my little corner of the web go down as having been there from the beginning.

Freedom won’t be on the ballot this time, but don’t let that stop you – write in Ron Paul this November.

  1. Good idea – but of course that’s against the law in North Carolina. You MUST choose one of the Republican or Democrats or literally your vote does not count.

  2. I know I’ve asked this before, but I forget your response. Why North Carolina? Aren’t you close enough to South Carolina to be able to move and keep your job?

I live and work in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, but if I worked in St. Paul (or east of there) and lived on that side of town, I would move to Wisconsin. The border is close, taxes are lower, and the Leftist politics are not as bad as the People’s Republic of Minnesota. It would take me 90 minutes to get to work where I am though, so it’s not practical with my current job (or my wife’s).
