Ok, I’m happy now. I got the Tivo up and running. I was even able to continue the experiment that got me in trouble last night without more trouble. The experiment didn’t work out like I hoped. The most disappointing thing so far is that I found out on the forums that many people have run into the same problem I had and found a much easier way to solve it. Next time I’ll read the forums before wiping everything and starting over.
I remembered 2 shows that I wish I wouldn’t have lost. One was Moster House, but there should be a few reruns I can catch; the other was “Ripley’s Game,” a movie I recorded from the Independent Films Channel that I did get to watch by was hoping to record. Hopefully that will get rerun too.
I think this weekend I may back up the hard drives on it again. Most of the work on the restore involved having the Tivo call in and get a software upgrade from verion 2.5 to 3.1. If I back it up again, then there will be less to update if I have to restore it again in the future.
