I’ve been lax on my documentation of Republican Betrayals to bring out in the 2008 Presidential election, when Hilary threatens to make it “The most important election of our lives.” It’s not for lack of things to document, but more that I get too busy to think about it, and don’t want to be amongst the 10 million bloggers writing about the same thing.

I did want to point out that I am not even finished reading Ann Coulter’s column for this week and feel compelled to make sure that the Harriet Miers nomination doesn’t slip through, as it really is so large it shouldn’t escape anyone’s radar, no matter how primitive that radar is.

I did want to mention one thing I disagree with in Coulter’s article though.

Conservatives were unhappy, but we were confident Bush would never let us down on the two issues that mattered more than anything else: the war on terrorism and the Supreme Court.

And now, although Bush has been bold and strong against the terrorists, it is beyond question that he has betrayed conservative hopes for the Supreme Court.

And how has he been strong and bold against the terrorists? Sure he has done more than Clinton did, but where is the invasion of Saudi Arabia? Or even the political pressure? When will the borders be secured? When will the people most likely to commit terrorist acts be scrutinized as the get on airplanes?

What has been done appears to me to be more for show than actual strong and bold action.
